New Video: 6ix9ine Celebrates House Arrest Release With Wild ‘Punani’

6ix9ine celebrated his freedom from house arrest on Sunday (Aug. 2) by dropping a wild, doughnut-spinning music video for his new song “Punani.””IM FREE !!” the 24-year-old rainbow-haired rapper wrote on Instagram. “WHO SAID WE AINT OUTSIDEEEEEE … BROOKLYN THIS MY TOWN NEW YORK THIS MY CITYYYY YOU HEAR ME!?!?! KING OF F–ING NEW YORK YA COULD NEVA DO WHAT I DID AND BE OUTSIDE DUMMY!”

Clocking in under two minute long, the “Punani” video — filmed, edited and uploaded to YouTube just hours after his house arrest was lifted — finds 6ix9ine and his large entourage stomping through the streets of Brooklyn, celebrating the rapper’s new freedom.

Standout moments from the clip include 6ix9ine lounging on the windshield of a Lamborghini zooming down a bridge, a mysterious bandage on the rapper’s neck, doughnut spins galore, and 6ix9ine sipping on his first cup of coffee outside of house arrest — a McCafé.

6ix9ine, born Daniel Hernandez, caught a break earlier this year when a New York judge granted him a compassionate release in light of the coronavirus outbreak.

But 6ix9ine’s four months of house arrest didn’t stop him from staying musically active. During that time, the rapper recorded and released numerous new songs and videos, including “Trollz” with Nicki Minaj, which earned 6ix9ine his first No. 1 on the Billboard Hot 100 chart.

Drake has just dropped a brand new music video for “Jumbotron Shit Poppin,” one of the tracks from his collaborative album with 21 Savage, Her Loss. The video montages footage of Drake dancing in a variety of luxurious locations, showcasing his smooth moves and stylish attire.

This isn’t the first time Drake has collaborated with other artists recently. Just a couple of weeks ago, he teamed up with dancehall superstar Popcaan for the music video of “We Caa Done,” a track that will appear on Popcaan’s upcoming album Great Is He. Drake will be releasing the album through his own record label, OVO Sound.

Her Loss, Drake’s collaboration with 21 Savage, was first announced last October in a video for their track “Jimmy Cooks.” The album went on to reach number one on the charts just a month later. However, the duo did face some legal issues during the release of the album when Vogue filed a lawsuit against them for copyright violation due to the use of fake magazines in their promotional materials. Despite the legal hiccup, Her Loss has been well-received by fans and critics alike.
