Ty Dolla Sign & Jeremih Team Up for Sultry Single ‘The Light’

“The Light,” the lead single from R&B crooners Ty Dolla $ign and Jeremih’s upcoming joint project MihTy, is finally here. The pair joined forces for a summer-ready banger that unabashedly addresses what they’re looking for in an intimate partner. Following the introduction of the funky Hitmaka-produced beat, the first lyrics uttered are “Let’s have sex/ But not without the foreplay.” After Ty Dolla $ign keeps it real, he passes the baton off to Jeremih who uses his velvety vocals to express his desires throughout the bridge and chorus.

The track also induces nostalgia, as Jeremih alludes to Ahmad’s 1994 classic “Back in the Day” in his verse. “Back in the day, when I was young/ I’m not a kid anymore/ But these days, I’m thinking maybe we should fuck again,” he sings.

Ty Dolla $ign and Jeremih have previously teamed up on tracks by Zaytoven and Kanye West. While there’s no official release date for MihTy yet, Dolla $ign revealed in a Zane Lowe interview that the project is expected to drop in June.

Cardi B’s new album era is seemingly upon us.

The rapper took to her Instagram Stories to re-share a fan’s post, in which a snippet of an upcoming song is teased. “I ain’t even got dressed / Any L that I took come after YS / Oh man, oh man, oh man, oh man,” she declares on the track. Check out the Instagram Story before it disappears here.

The teasers comes just a week after Cardi’s estranged husband Offset took to his own Stories to encourage the “Bodak Yellow” rapper to drop her new music. In the video, the Migos star is seen bobbing his head and loving the music with a satisfied stank face on, and since the video had no audio, viewers were left to their imagination in interpreting the caption. “Stop being scary and drop the album” it read, along with “s–t goes crazy [fire emoji],” he wrote.

What’s your thoughts on the new viral audio, is it a hit or miss?
