Tyrese Haliburton Launches Production Company, Signs Multi-year Development Deal With Wheelhouse

Tyrese Haliburton, the Indiana Pacers star point guard who lit last year’s NBA Playoffs on fire, is headed to Hollywood — but not via some sort of trade to the Los Angeles Lakers or Clippers.

Haliburton, a two-time NBA All-Star and an Olympic gold medalist, is launching a production company, The Hollywood Reporter has learned. His Zero Doubt Creative has signed a multiyear production and development partnership with Brent Montgomery‘s Wheelhouse; Zero Doubt Creative and Wheelhouse Sports will collaborate on original entertainment and branded content.

Some of the Zero Doubt/Wheelhouse stuff will be pitched for sale across the broader landscape, other content will be for Haliburton’s YouTube and social media channels.

“I’ve always been inspired by the power of content,” said Haliburton. “Especially the ability to create ideas, moments and experiences that can connect people through storytelling. As I’ve gotten older and experienced pivotal moments in my life, I wanted to find the right way to tell those stories. Launching Zero Doubt is the start. Our goal is simple — tell honest compelling stories and build a platform that will grow with me throughout my career and beyond, all the while, setting up a community with like-minded individuals who lead with authenticity. I’m excited for what’s next.”

Their first project is a no-brainer, an original documentary series called Time Out. The docuseries will follow Haliburton’s (painful) journey back to the court after rupturing his right Achilles tendon in Game 7 of last year’s NBA Finals. Without their star, the Pacers simply couldn’t keep pace with Shai Gilgeous-Alexander and the champion Oklahoma City Thunder. Portal A, a Wheelhouse-backed content studio, also produces Time Out; the premiere date will be announced at a later time.

Lil Wayne is speaking out about being regularly left out of major music events.

On Saturday (April 18), the 43-year-old rap legend took to social media to express frustration about being “uninvited & uninvolved” in annual events like the Coachella Valley Music & Arts Festival and the Grammy Awards.

“It’s truly a humbling experience when events like Coachella & the Grammys come around & like clockwork,I’m uninvited & uninvolved,” Weezy wrote on X. “I appreciate my position or space I hold in ya heart & mind if so bc you’re the humbling experience that’s timeless & 4dat I thk u. Iaintshitwithoutu.”

Limp Bizkit’s Fred Durst jumped into the comments to offer his support. “Let’s start our own experience gathering and our own acknowledgment event to welcome all of the uninvited – i’ve got a couple ideas i’ve been working on for quite some while now – happy to elaborate if ever interested – sending good vibes,” Durst wrote.

Wayne’s post comes about a year after the Tha Carter VI rapper was passed over to headline the 2025 Super Bowl halftime show in his hometown of New Orleans. Kendrick Lamar was ultimately selected to perform at the Caesars Superdome following the momentum of his Billboard Hot 100-topping hit “Not Like Us.”

In September 2024, Lil Tunechi opened up about how painful it was to miss out on the Super Bowl halftime performance in his own city.

“That hurt. It hurt a lot. You know what I’m talking about. It hurt a whole lot,” the rapper said at the time. “I blame myself for not being mentally prepared for a letdown. And for automatically mentally putting myself in that position like somebody told me that was my position. So I blame myself for that. But I thought that was nothing better than that spot and that stage and that platform in my city, so it hurt. It hurt a whole lot.”

Ice Spice is speaking out about a viral video showing her in an altercation at McDonald’s.

The 26-year-old “Deli” rapper took to social media on Friday (April 17) to poke fun at the incident, which took place earlier in the week at the fast food chain in Hollywood, California.

“This wouldn’t happen at Wendy’s,” Ice captioned a repost of the security footage on X. The Bronx native also appeared to tease an unreleased song, which can be heard playing over the clip.

Spice was reportedly in Los Angeles to shoot a commercial for Wendy’s, according to TMZ. The artist also lists “@wendys princes” in the bio section of her X and Instagram accounts.

In 2023, the Grammy-nominated rapper collaborated with Dunkin’ and appeared alongside Ben Affleck in an advertisement for the coffee and donut chain.

On Wednesday (April 15), Ice Spice was involved in an altercation at a McDonald’s, with footage later surfacing online. She was seated with a friend when another woman approached and tried to strike up a conversation. After Ice declined, tensions escalated and the woman reportedly slapped her, sparking a brief scuffle that spilled across nearby tables and briefly outside before bystanders stepped in to separate them.

D4vd’s Parents Say He’s Innocent After Arrest in Murder Investigation

D4vd’s parents are publicly defending their son following the singer’s recent arrest in Los Angeles in connection with the murder of Celeste Rivas.

According to a statement from the family’s attorney, Dawud and Colleen Burke are standing firmly behind the 21-year-old singer.

“The parents are sad and disappointed that David was arrested, however, they fully stand behind him and believe that he is innocent,” attorney Kent A. Schaffer said. “They fully support him.”

D4vd, whose real name is David Anthony Burke, was taken into custody Thursday at a residence in the Hollywood Hills formerly owned by Sandra Bullock. Authorities have said he is being held on suspicion in connection with the death of 14-year-old Rivas, whose remains were discovered months earlier in a Tesla vehicle registered to him.

At this stage, no formal charges have been filed. Law enforcement officials have indicated they plan to present the case to prosecutors, who will then determine whether to file a criminal complaint. If charges are filed, the case would proceed to a preliminary hearing where a judge would evaluate the evidence.

D4vd’s legal team has also pushed back strongly against the allegations, emphasizing that the arrest does not equate to guilt and insisting that the evidence will ultimately clear him.

The arrest comes after a months-long investigation that had largely remained out of the public eye. Details began to surface following legal challenges involving subpoenas issued to members of Burke’s family, which revealed he had been identified as a focus of the inquiry.

Despite the serious nature of the case, sources indicated that d4vd was cooperative with authorities at the time of his arrest.
